The successful candidate will promote the mission of the school and provide strong leadership on and off the field, develop student-athletes both athletically and academically, and build a positive team culture. The ideal candidate will excel at building strong relationships with all stakeholders and represent the school professionally. A full-time position may accompany the coaching position depending on the needs and resources of the school and the candidate's credentials. The Head Football Coach will oversee all aspects of the football program, including coaching, player development, staff management, scheduling, fundraising, equipment, compliance, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive football program focused on player development, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence. Plan and conduct practices, games, offseason workouts, camps, and conditioning programs. Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and football program staff. Establish clear expectations for student-athlete behavior, academic performance, attendance, and character. Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and work collaboratively with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families. Maintain accurate rosters, eligibility records, equipment inventories, schedules, and other required documentation. Ensure compliance with all school district, state athletic association, and school policies. Promote student-athlete safety and follow appropriate concussion, injury-prevention, emergency-action, and return-to-play procedures. Manage the football program budget and assist with fundraising and community-support initiatives. Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, faculty, alumni, media, and community members. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent qualification as permitted by district policy. Demonstrated coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or college level. Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategy, player development, and safety. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high school student-athletes. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, coaches, faculty, administrators, and community members.
Preferred:
Previous experience as a head football coach or coordinator. Teaching experience or current teaching certification. Experience developing successful offseason strength and conditioning programs.
