Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Arizona Driver's License
DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
NFHS Course Certificate:
Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors
NFHS Course Certificate:
Concussion in Sports
NFHS Course Certificate:
First Aid, Health and Safety
NFHS Course Certificate:
Fundamentals of Coaching
NFHS Course Certificate:
Heat Illness Prevention
Additional course certifications as required by sport type.
Core Job Functions:
Plan and conduct practices that develop individual and team athletic skills.
Teach sport-specific fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
Promote student-athlete growth, sportsmanship, and positive character.
Supervise and manage student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities.
Prepare teams for competitions and coach during games with professionalism.
Prioritize athlete safety and follow all injury prevention and emergency protocols.
Establish and enforce team expectations aligned with school and district policies.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and athletic staff.
Assist with program administration, including equipment, records, and required documentation.
Comply with all school, district, and athletic association rules and professional standards

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting. The job involves finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability. Employees may be exposed to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises.
