Club Volleyball Coach Ignite Volleyball Club Scottsdale, AZ Job Details Part-time | Contract $700 - $1,200 a month 11 hours ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Employee relationship building Full Job Description Volleyball Coach Ignite Volleyball Club Position Overview Ignite Volleyball Club is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and athlete-centered Volleyball Coach to join our coaching team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of volleyball, a passion for developing young athletes, and the ability to create a positive, competitive, and supportive team environment. This position is responsible for teaching volleyball fundamentals, developing individual and team skills, and helping athletes grow in confidence, discipline, sportsmanship, and love for the game. Coaches will work with players of varying skill levels and collaborate with fellow coaches, club staff, and families to provide a high-quality club volleyball experience. Responsibilities Plan and lead organized, age-appropriate practices that improve individual skills, team systems, game strategy, and volleyball knowledge. Teach and reinforce proper volleyball fundamentals, including serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, defense, and court movement. Develop athletes based on their individual abilities, goals, and stages of development. Prepare the team for practices, scrimmages, tournaments, and other club events. Lead the team during competitive matches while maintaining a positive, composed, and professional presence. Provide clear, constructive, and encouraging feedback to help athletes improve their performance. Promote teamwork, accountability, discipline, confidence, sportsmanship, and respect. Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment where every athlete feels valued and supported. Set clear expectations and manage athlete behavior effectively during practices, matches, travel, and team activities. Communicate consistently and professionally with athletes, parents, fellow coaches, and club leadership. Collaborate with other Ignite Volleyball Club coaches and staff to support the club's training philosophy, standards, and overall goals. Maintain accurate attendance, schedules, team communications, and other required documentation. Follow all Ignite Volleyball Club policies, safety procedures, and athlete-protection guidelines. Serve as a positive role model and represent Ignite Volleyball Club with professionalism at all times. Qualifications Previous volleyball coaching experience is preferred. Playing experience at the club, high school, collegiate, or competitive level is beneficial. Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, positions, rotations, and team systems. Experience working with children, adolescents, or student-athletes in an athletic, educational, or recreational setting. Ability to teach skills clearly and adapt instruction to different ages, learning styles, and ability levels. Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and relationship-building skills. Ability to motivate athletes while maintaining appropriate expectations and accountability. Proven ability to manage groups and respond to behavioral challenges calmly and effectively. Dependable, punctual, prepared, and able to work evenings and weekends as required. Willingness to complete required background checks, certifications, and coach-development training. Current CPR, First Aid, SafeSport, or other applicable coaching certifications are preferred. Physical and Scheduling Requirements Ability to stand, move, demonstrate volleyball skills, and remain active throughout practices and matches. Ability to lift, carry, and set up volleyball equipment as needed. Availability for scheduled practices, tournaments, team meetings, and club events, including evenings and weekends.
