Head Coach - High School Track and Field Rancho Solano Preparatory School - 2.9 Scottsdale, AZ Job Details Part-time From $4,000 a year 19 hours ago Qualifications School experience Team development Bachelor's degree First Aid Certification Working with students Teaching AED Certification Full Job Description Head High School Track and Field Coach Rancho Solano Preparatory School (RSPS) is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-focused Head High School Track and Field Coach to support the development and success of our High School Track and Field Program. The Head Coach will work closely with the Athletic Director to provide high-quality coaching, instruction, mentorship, and leadership to student-athletes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of high school Track and Field , running and field event fundamentals, athlete development, team building, meet strategy, and athletic program operations, along with a genuine commitment to supporting the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes. Key Responsibilities Lead the Track and Field program through the planning, organization, implementation, of the overall direction and vision of the program. Conduct all team practices­­­ and activities during the season, providing instruction and coaching. Develop and implement off-season program for student athlete development. Support the development of student-athletes through effective coaching, mentoring, motivation, feedback, and skill development. Help establish and maintain a positive, competitive, inclusive, and team-oriented culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, discipline, respect, teamwork, and personal responsibility. Reinforce school and athletic department expectations related to student-athlete conduct, sportsmanship, attendance, academic responsibility, and team policies. Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices, games, transportation, and team activities. Assist with team transportation to and from athletic competitions and activities as assigned and in accordance with school policies. Assist with the overall administration and day-to-day operations of the program, including equipment, facilities, uniforms, schedules, communication, and other program needs. Maintain a professional coaching environment and serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes. Build coaching staff of qualified individual coaches to meet the needs of the student-athletes and the program. Perform other coaching, athletic, and program-related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director. Qualifications and Skills Previous Track and Field coaching experience, preferably at the high school, club, collegiate, or competitive youth level. Strong knowledge of Track and Field rules, fundamentals, techniques, tactics, and athlete development. Ability to effectively teach and develop student-athletes with varying levels of experience and ability. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching and athletic department team. Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development. Ability to attend afternoon/early evening practices and games. Ability to meet all physical and supervisory requirements associated with coaching high school athletics. Previous experience working with adolescents or in an educational environment is preferred. Required Employment & Safety Requirements Candidates must successfully complete all employment and athletic department requirements of Rancho Solano Preparatory School, which may include: Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain one) Satisfactory completion of a Background check Drug screening, as applicable Completion of all required school, athletic department, and employment documentation and training Current AZ Teaching Certificate or NFHS Accredited Interscholastic Level 1 Coaching Certificate NFHS Concussion Certificate AZ Fingerprint Card 2
