Description:
Tanque Verde Unified School District is seeking a Head Softball Coach at Emily Gray Junior High School. We are seeking someone who can plan and supervise practices, meets, and manage junior high school student-athletes. Knowledge of the sport is preferred but not required. A background in coaching and/or experience working with junior high school age athletes is also preferred but not required. This position is for school year 2026-2027 MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience playing, coaching, or otherwise participating in softball at the high school, collegiate, recreational, or organized youth level preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of softball rules, fundamentals, techniques, and strategies. Ability to effectively communicate with and provide instruction to junior high school student-athletes. Ability to establish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful team environment. Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain certification within the time frame established by the District. Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Fingerprint Clearance Card as required by law and District policy. Employment/continued coaching assignment is contingent upon maintaining a valid clearance card. Meet all District, Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA), and applicable state requirements for serving as a school athletic coach.
