Employment as a teacher or support staff preferred Demonstrated knowledge, enthusiasm, and aptitude for coaching student-athletes Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered by the Governing Board as appropriate
Job Goal:
To support the head coach in leading a successful athletic program that promotes skill development, discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
Coach individual student-athletes to improve skills and performance in the assigned sport Actively supervise students during practices, games, travel, and overnight stays Promote respect, integrity, and good sportsmanship among athletes Assist in planning and conducting regular practice sessions Provide input on game schedules in coordination with the head coach and/or Athletic Director Recommend purchases of necessary equipment, uniforms, and supplies Maintain accurate inventory of sport-specific equipment Complete and manage required forms including attendance, insurance, and incident reports Monitor and ensure a safe practice and competition environment at all times Support and enforce eligibility requirements and performance expectations Collaborate effectively with the head coach and athletic staff Uphold student discipline and manage consequences in accordance with the Athletic Handbook Serve as a positive role model for students through professional and ethical conduct Comply with all Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) regulations Perform other related duties as assigned by the head coach or
Athletic Director Terms of Employment:
Seasonal position based on the sport's schedule, including preseason practices and postseason competition.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated according to Board policy GCO/GDO (Evaluation of Professional/Support Staff).
