Afterschool Youth Sports & Enrichment Instructor•

Schedule:
Part-Time | Mon-Fri | 12:30 PM•5:00 PM (Approx. 11 hours/week) Impact the Next Generation in Alhambra Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can mentor kids through both movement and discovery? Skyhawks Sports is hiring high-energy Enrichment Instructors to lead afterschool programs at elementary schools across Alhambra. This isn't just a coaching job—it's a chance to deliver a well-rounded afterschool experience. From leading soccer drills to exploring the physics of a basketball bounce through STEM, you will be the highlight of a student's day. What You'll Do (The Enrichment Experience) We provide a holistic afterschool environment.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
Sports Instruction:
Lead skill-based lessons in various sports like soccer, basketball, flag football (and others!) using our proven Skyhawks curriculum.
STEM & Play:
Deliver hands-on STEM activities that connect science and sports (e.g., teaching force and motion through gameplay).
Creative Enrichment:
Facilitate light art projects, team-building games, and guided play activities.
Daily Operations:
Manage snack distribution, student check-ins, and ensure a safe, organized transition between activities.
Community Connection:
Act as a positive role model for students and a reliable point of contact for parents during pickup.
Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified Energetic & Passionate:
You love working with elementary-aged children and have a high-energy "can-do" attitude.
Reliable:
You are committed to your schedule and have reliable transportation to Alhambra school sites.
Education/Coaching Mindset:
Previous experience in coaching, camp counseling, or afterschool programs is a huge plus. Bilingual skills are a plus!
Safety & Health Requirements:
Must be 18+ and able to pass a background check. TB (Tuberculosis)
Clearance:
Must provide proof of a negative TB test (completed within the last 60 days) or a valid certificate on file.
CPR/First Aid Certification:
Must hold a valid certification or be willing to obtain one prior to the start of the program. 48
Credits OR Basic Skills Test:
Must have transcripts showing completion of 48+ College Credits OR pass the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).

Interviews will take place May-July, with training in early August. Please only apply if you have consistent weekday afternoon availability. Beyond the Afterschool Program While this role focuses on our Alhambra afterschool programs, Skyhawks is a year-round sports leader! Coaches in good standing often have opportunities to pick up additional hours through: Summer & Spring Break Camps Weekend Leagues and Skills Clinics Evening Seasonal "Classes"
