Job Summary We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated coaches to support our high school athletic program for the Winter Sports listed. Coaches play a vital role in developing student-athletes by promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and a positive competitive experience. Ideal candidates are passionate about working with youth, demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Previous coaching or playing experience is preferred but not required. Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of our student-athletes both on and off the field.

Requirements / Qualifications

All coaches must meet California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and Gridley Unified School District requirements before working with student-athletes. Requirements include completion of CIF-approved coaching education, current CPR/First Aid certification, concussion, sudden cardiac arrest, and heat acclimatization training, as well as successful fingerprint clearance (Live Scan), TB clearance, and submission of all required district coaching and volunteer paperwork. Coaches must also demonstrate knowledge of sport-specific rules, athlete safety, injury prevention, and appropriate supervision of middle and high school student-athletes. Final coaching clearance must be approved by the District prior to the start of any coaching duties.

Stipend:

Appropriate Placement on Extra Duty Stipend Schedule. Contracts will be emailed with approved amounts. Stipends are paid on variable payroll cycle following completed season/last game. Please note that stipends are not payable until all coaching requirements and paperwork, including signed contract, has been received by the District Office.
