Part-Time About UDID Academy UDID Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting inclusion, personal growth, and empowerment for individuals of all abilities. Through adaptive programs in sports, education, and mentorship , we help young people and young adults build confidence, physical wellness, and teamwork skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Basketball Trainer to lead skill-building sessions for youth and young adults of varying abilities. This is an independent contractor position , ideal for individuals who can design and deliver high-quality, adaptive basketball training while fostering a positive and inclusive sports experience. Responsibilities Lead group and individual basketball training sessions tailored to a wide range of skill levels Adapt drills and activities to meet the needs of athletes with disabilities or special needs Teach basketball fundamentals, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive skills Encourage values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience Track and communicate athlete progress with participants and UDID program staff Collaborate with the Sports Program Supervisor and Team Lead to align training with program goals Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming training environment Manage equipment setup and breakdown for each session Participate in team meetings and support community events when applicable Required Qualifications CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification after start of employment Preferred Qualifications Prior experience coaching or training in basketball (especially with youth or adaptive programs) Passion for working with individuals of all abilities Strong understanding of basketball techniques and effective coaching practices Positive attitude and strong communication skills Availability for some evenings 3:45 pm - 8 pm & weekends 8:30 am - 1 pm Spanish proficiency (a plus, but not required) Additional Details Candidates should be comfortable managing their own schedule, providing services independently, and supplying their own liability coverage if required.
