Youth Basketball Coach:

San Francisco and Peninsula schools

Schedule:

Weekday afternoons, 3:00-6:00 p.m., plus optional school-break camps (half or full days) Pay (coaching time, based on experience):

Head Coach:

$60-$75/hour

Assistant Coach:

$30-$40/hour Setup, travel between schools, and required training are paid at $22/hour. About VP Academy VP Academy is a San Francisco youth athletic development company that runs after-school sports programs and school-break camps at independent schools across San Francisco and the Peninsula. Our programs are built on professional coaching methods, and every program is led by a head coach and an assistant coach working together. What you'll do Coach after-school basketball for elementary students (TK-5), and school-break camps, in small groups of 8-24

Head Coach:

lead each session using VP Academy's session plans and four-phase structure (warm-up, skill, game, cool-down), guide the assistant coach, and write end-of-cycle progress reports for families

Assistant Coach:

co-lead drills and games, help with setup and supervision, and learn our coaching system with a path to head coach Teach dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork with our See, Say, Show, Do method, correcting one thing at a time Keep every session safe, fun, and organized, following our child safety policy What we're looking for

Head Coach:

at least 2 years coaching youth basketball

Assistant Coach:

some experience coaching or playing basketball and working with young kids; eager to learn Patience and energy with kids ages 4-11 Reliable availability for full enrichment cycles (7-12 weeks, fall, winter, and spring) Your own transportation between school sites Spanish or other languages are a plus Before your first session (VP Academy pays for or covers the time for all of these): Live Scan fingerprint background check California mandated reporter training (about 2 hours) Current CPR/First Aid certification Benefits Paid training and orientation Mileage reimbursement between school sites Workers' compensation coverage Coaching development with VP Academy's leadership team VP Academy is an equal opportunity employer.
