For more than 15 years, Big Kicks Soccer has brought fun, confidence-building soccer programs directly to Bay Area schools for children ages 2-10. This is not traditional club soccer coaching. Our coaches work with young children who are still learning how to listen, participate in a group, build confidence, and enjoy being active. Some kids will be excited to play immediately. Others may be shy, distracted, energetic, or need encouragement before they participate. That is where a great Big Kicks coach stands out. What Success Looks Like You will do well in this role if you: Genuinely enjoy working with young children Are patient when kids do not listen or participate right away Bring positive energy even when the group is unpredictable Are willing to be playful, animated, and a little goofy Can adjust quickly when an activity or space is not working Enjoy helping beginners build confidence Communicate professionally with teachers and school staff Are dependable and consistent week to week Can work independently and represent Big Kicks professionally We can teach you our curriculum. What matters most is that you genuinely enjoy working with kids and know how to keep them engaged. What You'll Be Doing You will coach fun, age-appropriate soccer sessions at local schools.

A typical day may include:

Traveling between local schools Setting up simple soccer activities Gathering children from classrooms Leading 30-45 minute soccer classes Keeping children engaged, active, and safe Communicating with teachers and school staff Returning children safely to their classrooms Breaking down equipment and traveling to the next location Every school is different. You may coach on grass, a playground, blacktop, indoor space, or another available area. Being able to adapt without losing your energy or patience is an important part of the job. Soccer Experience Is Helpful, But Not Everything Playing or coaching soccer is a plus, but it is not the most important qualification. We would rather hire someone who is exceptional with children and willing to learn our curriculum than someone with extensive soccer experience who does not enjoy coaching young kids. Schedule 2-3 consistent weekdays Primarily daytime and after-school hours Schedule varies slightly based on school programming No nights or weekends We are looking for someone who can commit reliably to the same days each week This is a great fit for someone who wants meaningful, consistent part-time work and enjoys working with children.
