Job Description

Woodward Tahoe (Boreal and Soda Springs), located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range, is a year-round world-class action sports facility with a culture that comes straight from our main product: Fun. As a Planet Kids Instructor at Soda Springs Ski Resort, you'll help introduce the next generation of skiers and snowboarders to the mountain. This role is all about creating safe, fun, and memorable experiences for children ages 8 and younger while teaching the fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding in our dedicated Planet Kids area. Planet Kids Instructors focus on safety, skill-building, and exceptional guest service. You'll help young guests develop confidence on the snow while creating an environment where they can have fun, learn, and build a love for winter sports. When you're not teaching lessons, you'll support the resort as a Zone Coach, helping keep our Planet Kids and Woodward areas safe, welcoming, and guest-ready. This is primarily a Part Time, Holiday or On-Call Seasonal position with awesome perks and benefits.

Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional guest service at all times Teach basic, beginner-level ski and snowboard lessons to children ages 8 and younger Create a safe, fun, and positive learning environment for young guests Teach proper equipment use and basic skiing and snowboarding techniques Adjust instruction and communication to meet the needs of young learners Act as a Zone Coach in the Planet Kids tubing hills and Woodward Zone when not teaching lessons Assist children as needed and actively monitor designated areas Enforce established safety rules and procedures Report safety concerns, guest issues, or operational concerns to a supervisor or manager Support resort operations and assist with storm recovery and shoveling projects as needed Help ensure Planet Kids and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and guest-ready Follow established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Work collaboratively with other departments to support daily resort operations
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children Experience skiing or snowboarding A guest service mindset with an outgoing, friendly attitude A fun, dynamic, energetic, and positive personality Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with children, guests, and coworkers Strong understanding of safe practices and ethical behavior Ability to stay calm, composed, and professional in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment Comfortable working outdoors in inclement weather for extended periods of time Physically able to ski/snowboard and perform outdoor work for extended periods Ability to assist with shoveling and other storm recovery projects Honest, dependable, and committed to maintaining the highest level of integrity Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and company values Ability to work effectively as part of a team Able to pass a background check Availability to work weekends and holidays is required You make us Woodward.
