British Swim School's fun and gentle teaching methods will teach water survival skills and stroke development for all ages and abilities, starting as young as 3 months old! Job Overview We are seeking energetic and dedicated Swim Instructors to join our team and inspire confidence in swimmers of all ages. As a Swim Instructor, you will deliver engaging swimming lessons that focus on water safety, skill progression, and enjoyment. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students develop their swimming abilities while fostering a positive learning environment. Duties Lead group and individual swimming lessons tailored to students' age and skill levels Teach water safety techniques, including survival skills and stroke improvement Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and correct student form Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement Ensure a safe swimming environment by enforcing safety rules and emergency procedures Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about student progress and safety concerns Maintain cleanliness of the pool area and ensure equipment is in good condition Requirements Prior lifeguard experience or certification preferred; must be comfortable operating AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Strong swimming skills with experience in swimming, martial arts, or sports-specific training instruction Experience working with children, including behavior management and childcare skills Knowledge of sports coaching techniques such as soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, or team leadership is a plus Excellent communication skills for client interaction and instruction delivery Ability to teach physical education concepts effectively across different age groups Experience in sports coaching or teaching physical activities is highly desirable Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire Enthusiastic team player with a passion for promoting water safety and physical activity Join us to make waves in your community by helping individuals gain confidence in the water!
