In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for maintenance and repairs. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between technicians and clients, ensuring clear communication, accurate estimations, and a seamless service experience. If you thrive in a lively environment, possess strong mechanical knowledge, and excel at customer service, this opportunity is perfect for you! You will play a key role in driving customer satisfaction and success by effectively managing service appointments, estimating repairs, and upselling additional services. Duties Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs Write detailed repair orders by accurately documenting vehicle issues and customer requests Use estimating software to generate precise repair estimates, including parts, labor, and additional recommendations Communicate repair options clearly to customers, explaining necessary services and benefits Upsell additional maintenance or repair services based on vehicle diagnostics and customer needs Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services Maintain comprehensive records of all transactions, including cash handling and payment processing Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly Skills Strong automotive diagnostics knowledge combined with mechanical experience in various systems such as transmissions, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, tires, oil changes, and repair Proficiency with auto estimating software and computer-aided vehicle estimating tools Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly Demonstrated ability to upsell services ethically while maintaining customer trust Experience working in a dealership or auto service management environment is highly preferred Familiarity with service writing procedures, auto repair processes, and automotive repair standards Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to facilitate vehicle test drives or inspections Join our team as an Automotive Service Writer if you're passionate about cars, enjoy helping customers navigate their vehicle needs, and want to be part of a vibrant automotive community.
