Walnut, CA Starting Hourly Rate:

$25/hr QD Learning is an interdisciplinary education center located in the Orange County area, focused on empowering students in grades 1-12 to become emerging global leaders. We are currently looking for responsible coaches who can deliver speech & debate training to students in grades 1-8.

Primary responsibilities:

deliver lessons (typically 90 minutes to 3 hours each session) communicate with lead coach/administrators on a regular basis provide feedback to improve the curriculum All classes are designed to develop students' communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills. The lesson is heavy in practice and requires the coach to do proactive coaching. The class usually includes multi-grade/multi-level students (no more than 3 grades apart). The instruction needs to be differentiated for different levels. Students will also be encouraged to participate in speech tournaments (typically up to 3 times per semester). If you have competed in high school/college level speech & debate tournaments and/or coached students in speech & debate before, you will be a good candidate.

• Competed in high school or college speech and debate or coached students (1st-12th) in speech and debate
• Must be responsible and reliable
• Teaching/tutoring school-age children is highly preferred
• Must be a self-starter and hardworking
• Must be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding students' progress
• Mentor and act as a positive role model
• Must be willing to adapt and be flexible with students

Other Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years old with some college units and experience working with young children
