A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Runs practice sessions and physical conditioning programs; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of players; plans strategies for games; motivates and encourage players and teaches good sportsmanship.

Summary:
Fort Lupton Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate has previous coaching or playing experience, demonstrates a passion for teaching the game of soccer, and is committed to helping student-athletes develop both on and off the field. This coach will work directly with the Head MS Soccer coach to ensure consistency, continuity, and overall advancement of player development.
Responsibilities:
Program Leadership Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting daily practices, games, and team activities. Help teach and reinforce fundamental soccer skills, game strategies, and team concepts. Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and a positive team culture. Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and team functions. Assist with equipment management, field setup, and game-day responsibilities. Support compliance with all school, district, Junior Patriot League (JPL), and Weld Re-8 School Policies Help create alignment between the middle school and Fort Lupton High School soccer programs to support long-term athlete development. Athlete Development Teach soccer fundamentals, rules, strategy, and positional play appropriate for middle school athletes. Provide positive instruction and constructive feedback that encourages growth and confidence. Encourage academic achievement, good sportsmanship, effort, attendance, and positive behavior. Assist the Head Coach with individual and team goal setting throughout the season. Foster an inclusive environment where all student-athletes have opportunities to learn and develop. Communication & Safety Maintain positive and professional communication with the Head Coach, student-athletes, families, teachers, and school administrators. Help ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all practices and competitions. Assist in monitoring player attendance, eligibility, and academic standing in collaboration with the coaching staff and Athletic Director. Respond appropriately to injuries and emergencies while following district safety procedures and emergency action plans. Support all district policies regarding student supervision, transportation, and athlete welfare.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching and/or playing experience in soccer is preferred. Experience working with middle school-aged students is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the coaching staff. CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification prior to the season. Must pass a background check, complete all district-required training, and sign the Weld Re-8 Coaches' Manual.
Additional Expectations:
Available for after-school practices, games, and occasional weekend events. Actively support students academically and personally. Attend required coaches' meetings, professional development opportunities, and preseason orientations. Meet regularly with the Head Coach during the season and off-season. Represent Fort Lupton Middle School Athletics with professionalism, pride, and integrity.
