Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Swim Coach and inspire swimmers of all ages and skill levels to achieve their aquatic goals! As an integral part of our coaching staff, you will support lead coaches in delivering engaging swim training sessions, ensuring safety, and fostering a positive environment that encourages growth, teamwork, and confidence. Responsibilities Assist in planning and executing swim training sessions tailored to different skill levels and age groups Support lead coaches in monitoring swimmers' techniques, providing constructive feedback to improve performance Ensure the safety of all participants by supervising during practices, lessons, and water activities, including operation of AEDs and first aid when necessary Help enforce behavioral management strategies to promote respectful and focused participation Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and participants regarding progress, schedules, and safety protocols Maintain a clean and organized pool area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times Support special programs such as swim clinics or water safety workshops to enhance participant experience Qualifications Prior lifeguard experience or certification is highly desirable Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate proper techniques across various strokes Experience working with children or in childcare settings Background in sports coaching or sports-specific training instruction (e.g., soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading) is a plus Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, AED operation, and emergency response procedures Familiarity with behavior management strategies for young learners Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with participants, parents, and team members Experience teaching physical education or working within health clubs or gym environments is advantageous Background in martial arts (such as Karate or Judo), climbing, or other sports can add value to coaching versatility Embark on a rewarding journey where your enthusiasm for sports and commitment to safety help shape confident swimmers while developing your coaching expertise.
