Overview Assistant Golf Coach —
The Golf Performance Academy Location:
Port St Lucie, FL The Golf Performance Academy is seeking a passionate, motivated Assistant Golf Coach to join our coaching team and help junior golfers develop their full potential. This position is ideal for a young professional pursuing a career in high-performance golf coaching. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced coaches and athletes while developing their coaching skills across the technical, physical, mental, strategic, and performance aspects of the game. The position includes structured training within the PDS (Player Development System) — our data-driven framework for evaluating and developing golfers rather than simply focusing on swing technique. The coach will learn how to assess players, identify areas for development, create individualized development plans, and help athletes progress toward their short- and long-term goals. Key Responsibilities Coach and develop junior golfers through individualized training, practice, and on-course coaching Assess players and contribute to individualized development plans aligned with their goals Work with athletes across the technical, physical, mental, strategic, and performance components of the game Travel with athletes to tournaments and provide coaching and support throughout tournament preparation and competition Assist with tournament preparation, planning, operations, and athlete management Build strong and professional relationships with students, parents, and fellow coaches Utilize golf technology including TrackMan, Foresight, GASP, Sam PuttLab, and video analysis Assist with player assessments and data collection through the PDS Support parent communication and athlete development initiatives Support college-development and player pathway initiatives Contribute to a high-performance culture that is both challenging and rewarding Participate in ongoing coach education and professional development Take an active role in the day-to-day operation and development of the Academy Professional Development This position is designed to provide a strong foundation for a long-term career in high-performance golf coaching. The successful candidate will receive mentorship and structured training within the GPA Player Development System and will have the opportunity to: Develop skills in high-performance junior golf coaching Learn how to assess and evaluate players using a structured development system Build individualized player development plans Gain experience coaching athletes in both practice and tournament environments Develop experience working with golf technology and performance data Learn how to communicate effectively with athletes and parents Gain exposure to tournament preparation and coaching Gain experience supporting college recruitment and player pathway planning Work alongside experienced coaches in a collaborative, high-performance environment Progress through the GPA Coach Certification Program Qualifications Strong playing background; competitive golf experience preferred Previous experience working with junior golfers preferred Genuine interest in pursuing a career in high-performance golf coaching Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning and professional development Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative coaching team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Technology proficiency and willingness to learn new coaching and performance platforms Ability and willingness to travel to tournaments with athletes Completion of, or commitment to completing, GPA Coach Certification Levels Compensation & Benefits Salary commensurate with experience and knowledge, plus bonus opportunities based on company performance.
