Instructors create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes skill development, confidence, responsible participation, and an enjoyable on-mountain experience. Key Responsibilities Lead group and private lessons for skiers of all ages and skill levels Deliver lessons using approved teaching methods and progression models Adapt instruction to meet individual guest needs and learning styles Foster a fun, supportive, and confidence-building environment Promote return visits, lesson packages, and seasonal programs Assess terrain and weather conditions before and during lessons Follow and enforce all mountain policies, procedures and responsibility codes Prioritize the well-being of guests and fellow team members during all lesson activities. Provide excellent customer service Assist with lesson lineup, class organization and guest check-in Support special programs, events, and seasonal camps Assist with other duties outside regular teaching responsibilities including, but not limited to, guest assistance, on-hill support, or other operational tasks Complete required training as assigned by mountain leadership Accurately record all hours worked, ensure time entries are complete, and promptly resolve any discrepancies prior to the end of each pay period Other duties as assigned by mountain leadership Qualifications Must be 16 years or older Advanced skiing skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Positive, energetic and patient attitude Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required - we will train you PSIA certification is a plus, but not required Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays Must be eligible to work in the United States Successful completion of background check Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to ski for extended periods of time Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including cold temperatures, snow wind, and limited visibility Ability to walk, stand and navigate snow-covered, icy, uneven, and changing terrain, surface conditions and subsurface conditions Frequent bending, lifting, and assisting guests Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
