Job Description

Part-Time Girls Youth Soccer Coach Wilton Soccer Association is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and development-minded Part-Time Youth Soccer Coach to join our girls program. This position is an excellent opportunity for a coach who looking to grow and has the energy to work for work with young players. While extensive coaching experience is not required, the successful candidate must have some prior soccer and/or coaching experience and demonstrate a strong ability to connect with, teach, and motivate young players. Coaches are responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and appropriately challenging environment while helping players develop technical skills, game understanding, confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of soccer. Key Responsibilities Plan and conduct engaging, age-appropriate training sessions. Teach and develop core technical skills, including dribbling, passing, receiving, ball control, shooting, and defending. Introduce age-appropriate tactical concepts and help players develop their understanding of the game. Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment. Provide clear, constructive, and encouraging feedback to players. Adapt coaching methods and activities to meet the needs and abilities of individual players. Encourage confidence, creativity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a growth mindset. Communicate professionally and effectively with players, parents, and club leadership. Attend scheduled practices, games, and other program activities reliably and arrive prepared. Represent Wilton Soccer Association in a professional manner both on and off the field. Qualifications & Experience Previous soccer playing and/or coaching experience required. Experience working with U8-U14 players strongly preferred. Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and the ability to teach those fundamentals effectively. Demonstrated ability to connect with and motivate young athletes. Positive, patient, energetic, and encouraging coaching style. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, organized, and professional. Commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all players. Commitment to Coaching Education Wilton Soccer Association is committed to the continued development of its coaches. The successful candidate must be open to learning and willing to pursue additional coaching education and professional development throughout their time with the club. We are looking for coaches who are eager to improve their own knowledge and coaching abilities and who are willing to participate in appropriate coaching education, training, and development opportunities as part of their role. Extensive coaching credentials are not required at the time of hire. A willingness to learn, grow, and continually improve as a coach is essential.
