Job Goal:

To advise and lead the cheerleaders so that they function as effectively as possible to instill school spirit an sportsmanship at athletic events.

Job Qualifications:

Valid Delaware teacher certification preferred. Previous cheerleader coaching experience. Either high school and/or college experience as a cheerleader. Employed as a teacher in the Brandywine School District preferred.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for the directing, supervising and sequential training of the cheerleaders. Responsible for the conduct of the cheerleaders at practice sessions and at all contests. Leads and directs the cheerleaders in such a way as to encourage spirit and good sports­manship throughout the school. Responsible for uniforms and supplies. Sees that the cheerleaders carry out all of the duties set forth in their constitution. Conducts a clinic for tryouts in the spring and selects the judges for the tryouts. Attends a variety of home varsity contests, besides football and basketball, including all playoff games. Responsible for issuing awards to deserving cheerleaders. Responsible for any other duties relating to cheerleading as may be directed by the Athletic Director and/or principal.
