This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead energetic youth cheer squads, foster a positive team environment, and promote healthy physical activity. As a vital part of our sports and recreation programs, you will motivate children to excel both on and off the field while ensuring their safety and enjoyment. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help cultivate a love for cheerleading and sportsmanship among youth participants. Duties Plan, organize, and lead cheerleading practices and routines tailored to various age groups and skill levels Teach cheerleading techniques, choreography, stunts, jumps, and tumbling safely and effectively Foster a positive team environment through encouragement, behavior management, and team-building activities Monitor participants' progress, provide constructive feedback, and motivate continuous improvement Ensure all safety protocols are followed during practices and performances, including proper use of equipment and spotting techniques Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding team updates, schedules, and participant progress Maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice spaces in a clean, organized manner Skills Proven experience in cheerleading coaching or related sports coaching experience with youth teams Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunting, tumbling, dance routines, and choreography Experience working with children or adolescents in sports or educational settings Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct participants and engage with parents or guardians Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities such as motivation, patience, and positive reinforcement Knowledge of safety procedures related to cheerleading stunts and physical activities Certifications in First Aid and CPR (including AED operation) preferred but not required; willingness to obtain upon hire Background in sports-specific training instruction such as martial arts (Karate or Judo), soccer coaching, basketball coaching or climbing is advantageous Experience teaching physical education or working within health clubs or gym environments is a plus Skills in behavior management to promote discipline while maintaining a fun environment Embark on this rewarding journey as a Youth Cheerleading Coach where your energy fuels young athletes' growth!
