Acro and Cheer Instructor Mizfit Inc - 5.0 Boca Raton, FL Job Details Part-time | Internship $25 - $50 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification Teamwork First Aid Certification Working with students Gymnastics Full Job Description This position is for a dance/acro teacher to conduct classes within the after school and studio environment to work with dancers ranging from beginner through intermediate/advanced levels. Students or potential hires need to be available from 1-3:45pm and possibly 4-7. Our goal is to help students develop strength, flexibility, proper technique, confidence, and safe progression of skills in a positive and encouraging environment.
Our ideal instructor has:
Experience teaching acro, gymnastics, tumbling, or related movement disciplines Strong understanding of proper acro technique, body alignment, and skill progressions Ability to safely teach and spot skills at varying levels Knowledge of flexibility, conditioning, strength, balance, and coordination training Ability to assess a student's current ability and determine appropriate next-step progressions Experience working with children and teens of different ages and skill levels Strong classroom management and communication skills A positive, energetic, patient, and encouraging teaching style A strong commitment to student safety and injury prevention Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively with our teaching team Work experience with children is helpful but can be trained. Must be energetic, patient, dependable and kind as most of out clientele is K-5th graders. We operate in daycares, preschools, elementary schools, studios etc.. Classes are 30-60 minutes in length. We pay per session, based on experience and we offer growth potential within the company. There is some flexibility in scheduling; meaning that if there are some morning or afternoons where you aren't available, we can work around that. However, once your schedule is set with us, it won't change. You'll be at the same locations at the same times each week, and we need you to be committed for the entire season. We are looking for teachers who are creative, have strong leadership and teamwork skills. Physical stamina is important as well as you may teach multiple classes.
Responsibilities The Acro Instructor will:
Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate acro classes Provide proper warm-ups, conditioning, flexibility, and strength training Teach skills through safe, structured progressions Spot students appropriately when required Modify exercises for different abilities within a class Encourage confidence, perseverance, and proper technique Maintain an organized and safe class environment Communicate professionally with students, parents, and Mizfit staff Help create an experience where students feel challenged, supported, and excited to improve Preferred Qualifications Previous acro, gymnastics, tumbling, or dance teaching experience Acrobatic Arts certification or comparable training is a plus CPR/First Aid certification preferred Background in dance is highly valued Experience teaching multiple age groups is a plus Above all, we are looking for someone who is positive, dependable, safety-conscious, and passionate about helping young dancers grow. Additional requirements Responsible, doesn't require continual oversight and communicates well

our instructors are contracted for a full dance season August/September through May and summer opportunities as well Safety-conscious, whose #1 priority is the safety of each child in their care Caring, engaging with each child through specific and positive affirmation Confident with 10 or more children in class at one time Organized and plan ahead Energetic, excited and always ready to make class fun! Working with children is something we don't take lightly, and it's imperative that you not only enjoy working with children, but that you are incredibly passionate about it. We have a training program to make sure you are confident going into your first class, and every class after that. We host a recital at the end of each season. In addition to the requirements above, instructors must pass a background check and be fingerprinted. Class pay starts at $25-$30 per hour based on experience. Instructors have opportunities for bonuses and raises during the season.
