Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated, professional and passionate Strength and Conditioning Coach to lead our athletic development programs. Applicants should have an accredited strength and conditioning certification and practical experience to apply for this position. Additional credentials in related fields, particularly of an Athletic Trainer (AT) or any certification related to soft tissue mobilization, are welcome. We want someone to lead our youth player development program's athletic development with an organized, structured plan and work hand-in-hand with our player development coaches throughout the process. We are not an organization that works in siloes, as we want our program to be integrated. In addition, candidates will be tasked with training professional basketball players in private training settings. Candidates should enjoy working with athletes and appreciate the nuances of helping basketball players in particular become great movers on the court. About Next Level Basketball Next Level Basketball has been coaching and developing basketball players for 13 years. We are headquartered in Hollywood, Florida, where we work out of a 12,000 square foot facility that features a full court, two half-courts and a weight room with a turf strip. Our organization trains players from the age of six-and-up all the way to professional basketball players. Our organizational goal is to be a place for and develop Next Level people, with a goal of helping every player and coach in our program reach theit potential. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive strength and conditioning programs tailored to different age groups, athletic needs, sport requirements, and performance goals. Lead group and team training sessions, ensuring proper technique, safety protocols, and effective workout execution. Monitor athlete progress through assessments, adjusting programs to optimize results while minimizing injury risk. Educate athletes on biomechanics, body mechanics, and injury prevention strategies using manual handling techniques and physiology principles. Oversee safety procedures including first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and emergency response protocols. Collaborate with player development and team coaches to integrate training plans with overall athlete development strategies. Maintain detailed records of training sessions, athlete progress, and safety compliance in accordance with industry standards. Bring interpersonal skills to the table, such as: taking feedback in stride, embracing collaboration, displaying emotional intelligence, and having a growth mindset with a positive attitude. Being a strong, demanding leader but understanding how to adapt to different age groups throughout. Dependability. Must be reliable and consistent. Must be punctual. Your word must be meaningful to you. Experience Proven experience in the strength and conditioning industry, with roles such as head or assistant strength and conditioning coach on a professional or college basketball team, strength and conditioning coach in sports-specific environments such as private facilities, or related roles. Experience as an athletic trainer is welcome and additional certifications in related fields can bolster your standing as a candidate. Demonstrated expertise in designing strength training programs for diverse athlete populations with knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and physiology. A background in coaching groups of athletes and individual training sessions. Experience in coaching different age groups is appreciated but not necessary. Previous leadership experience managing a team of trainers or coaches is desirable. Certifications including CPR/AED certification, first aid training, and relevant fitness or sports coaching credentials are required. Experience working with athletes across various disciplines to improve performance through tailored program development.
