Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30 PM-8:30 PM, plus competitions and scheduled events Position Summary TRUE Youth Association Inc. is seeking an energetic, dependable, and experienced Bilingual Cheer Instructor to join the Venom Vipers coaching staff. The Cheer Instructor will work alongside the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach to teach cheer fundamentals, stunts, tumbling, dance, and competition routines while maintaining a safe, structured, and positive environment. This position requires a confident instructor who can also independently lead and manage a full practice of approximately 30 cheerleaders when the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach are unavailable. Key Responsibilities Teach cheer fundamentals, including motions, jumps, dance, tumbling, stunts, and cheers. Assist with choreography, competition routines, formations, transitions, and routine cleaning. Lead warm-ups, conditioning, drills, skill development, and routine practice. Provide individual and small-group instruction based on athlete skill level. Maintain a structured practice environment and manage athlete behavior and participation. Ensure proper technique and safety during all activities, particularly stunting and tumbling. Independently lead a full practice of approximately 30 cheerleaders when needed , including instruction, conditioning, behavior management, safety, and athlete dismissal. Assist with athlete evaluations, skill development, and competition preparation. Communicate athlete progress, injuries, behavioral concerns, and safety concerns to the Head Coach and/or Program Manager. Assist with practice setup, breakdown, equipment, and cleanup. Attend required competitions, performances, meetings, trainings, and team events. Communicate effectively with English- and Spanish-speaking athletes and families. Follow all TRUE Youth policies, safety procedures, and youth-protection requirements. Minimum Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish . Prior experience coaching or teaching cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, tumbling, or a related youth athletic activity. Strong knowledge of cheer fundamentals, stunting, tumbling, and proper technique. Must be capable of independently leading and supervising approximately 30 youth cheerleaders . Strong leadership and group-management skills. Ability to work with athletes of different ages and skill levels. Dependable, punctual, organized, and comfortable taking leadership when needed. Must successfully pass required background screening. First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain if required. Work Schedule Monday, Tuesday & Thursday | 5:30 PM-8:30 PM Athlete practice is held from 6:00-8:00 PM . Staff arrive at 5:30 PM for preparation and setup and remain through 8:30 PM for dismissal, breakdown, and cleanup. Additional practices may be required during competition weeks , including up to five practice days. The instructor must also be available for designated competitions, performances, team events, and other required activities , including some evenings and weekends. Regular and reliable attendance is required. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain physically active throughout practice, demonstrate cheer skills and conditioning activities, assist with spotting within the instructor's training and ability, and help set up and move cheer equipment.
