In this energetic role, you will lead cheerleading teams through skill development, routines, and competitions while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. Your passion for cheerleading, combined with your leadership skills, will motivate students to excel both on and off the mat. Responsibilities Plan and execute engaging cheerleading practices that develop stunting, tumbling, dance routines, and team coordination Lead team members during performances at competitions, games, and community events with enthusiasm and professionalism Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among participants Provide coaching on safety techniques and proper use of equipment to prevent injuries during routines and stunts Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about team progress, upcoming events, and individual athlete development Monitor athlete behavior and implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful team atmosphere Stay current with cheerleading trends, safety protocols, and coaching techniques through ongoing training and professional development Requirements Prior experience in cheerleading coaching or participation at a competitive or recreational level Strong background in cheerleading skills including stunting, tumbling, jumps, dance, and routine choreography Experience working with children or youth in sports or educational settings Knowledge of safety procedures related to cheerleading activities and stunt execution Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct athletes and engage with parents and staff Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities such as motivation, patience, and adaptability Certifications in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) along with AED operation knowledge Familiarity with sports-specific training instruction such as martial arts (karate or judo), climbing, or gymnastics is a plus Experience coaching other sports like soccer or basketball is beneficial for versatile team leadership skills Passion for teaching physical education and promoting healthy activity among students Join us in creating an inspiring environment where young athletes can thrive!
