This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster confidence, promote water safety, and encourage a love of swimming among children of all ages. As a vital part of our aquatic education program, you will lead classes, implement sports-specific training techniques, and create memorable experiences that help children thrive both in and out of the water. Responsibilities Lead engaging swim lessons tailored to children's skill levels, ensuring safety and fun are at the forefront of every session Develop and implement age-appropriate teaching methods that incorporate sports coaching principles such as teamwork, discipline, and skill-building Monitor children's progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt instruction to meet individual needs Enforce safety protocols including lifeguard procedures, AED operation, first aid, and CPR during all activities Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful learning environment Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress and any safety concerns Assist with organizing aquatic activities like water games or sports such as soccer or basketball to promote physical activity and team spirit Skills Prior experience as a lifeguard or in water safety roles is highly desirable Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate techniques clearly and confidently Background in martial arts such as karate or judo enhances discipline-based coaching approaches Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, especially in physical education or sports coaching Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction for activities like soccer coaching, cheerleading, climbing, or gym-based exercises Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide young learners effectively Excellent communication skills for clear client (parent/guardian) interaction and team collaboration Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and health club or gym experience are preferred but not mandatory Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for children of various ages and developmental stages Embark on a rewarding journey where your enthusiasm for sports, fitness, and working with children can make a lasting impact!
