Job Description
Job Overview Make Your Mark on the Water. Join Wavemark Swim as a Private Swim Instructor and inspire confidence, safety, and a love for water in students of all ages and skill levels. Wavemark is a veteran-owned swim school built on one idea: instructors deserve to be paid what they're worth. We pay roughly 25% more per lesson than other swim schools in Naples, FL— because we know firsthand what it's like to be underpaid and shuffled between families as an instructor, and we built this company to fix that. In this role, you'll deliver personalized swim lessons that build skill, water safety, and confidence — and unlike other swim schools, you'll keep the same students lesson after lesson instead of a rotating roster, so you actually get to see your students' progress. Why Instructors Make More at Wavemark Pay per lesson is roughly 25% above typical industry rates — $30 (30-min) up to $83 (90-min) per lesson Completion bonus: earn an extra 5-8% on top of your pay when you finish a full lesson package with a family Flat per-lesson pay means no penalty for teaching discounted longer packages — you're paid for your time, full stop Consistent client assignments mean less time spent on one-off bookings and more time building real relationships (and real income) with returning families Duties Conduct private and semi-private swimming lessons tailored to each student's age, ability, and learning style Develop lesson plans focused on water safety, stroke technique, endurance, and confidence building Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and safety procedures clearly and effectively Track student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback Communicate with parents about student goals, progress, and any concerns Maintain safety standards and cleanliness in every lesson environment Requirements Proven experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard, with strong water safety knowledge Experience working with children or diverse age groups in an instructional setting Clear, confident communication skills with students and parents alike CPR/First Aid and AED certification required before start date (lifeguarding or water rescue certifications a plus) Strong behavior management skills to keep lessons safe, structured, and fun Reliable transportation for in-home/in-community lessons About Wavemark Swim Founded by a Navy veteran and former NCAA Division I competitive swimmer, Wavemark Swim is entering Naples, FL with a simple mission: pay instructors better, charge families less, and make every lesson count toward real progress — not just a booking. If you're an experienced instructor who wants to be paid what you're worth, we want to hear from you.
