- Oviedo, UCF, Winter Springs, Longwood, Lake Nona, and surrounding areas About the Position N Zone Sports is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Youth Sports Coaches to lead fun, age-appropriate sports enrichment classes for children ages 2-10 at preschools and elementary schools throughout Central Florida.
Our programs introduce children to a variety of sports while emphasizing fun, participation, confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fundamental athletic skills . For our youngest athletes, the primary goal is helping children enjoy movement and develop basic skills through games and engaging activities. As children get older, our curriculum gradually introduces more structured skill development while maintaining a positive and encouraging environment. We provide the curriculum, equipment, and program structure. Coaches bring the energy, leadership, and ability to connect with children. Responsibilities Youth Sports Coaches are responsible for: Leading engaging sports classes for groups of young children Teaching age-appropriate sports fundamentals through games and activities Creating a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment Keeping children actively engaged throughout each class Demonstrating activities and providing clear instructions Adjusting activities based on age, group size, ability, and available space Encouraging effort, participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship Setting up and packing away sports equipment Communicating professionally with school directors, teachers, parents when applicable, and N Zone Sports staff Working alongside assistant coaches when assigned Following N Zone Sports curriculum and safety procedures Sports We Teach Our multi-sport curriculum may include: Soccer Basketball Flag Football T-Ball/Baseball Golf Volleyball Tennis Lacrosse Hockey Track & Field Kickball Dodgeball Additional recreational sports and activities Coaches do not need to be experts in every sport. Training and curriculum are provided. What We're Looking For Successful coaches are comfortable taking the lead and creating an energetic environment for young children.
Ideal candidates are:
Enthusiastic and encouraging Comfortable speaking and demonstrating activities in front of groups Dependable and punctual Patient with young children Able to give clear, age-appropriate instructions Comfortable maintaining an active and engaging coaching environment Professional when interacting with schools, families, and other staff Able to work independently and as part of a coaching team Interested in sports, physical activity, and youth development Experience as a youth sports coach, athlete, teacher, preschool teacher, PE instructor, camp counselor, recreation leader, gymnastics instructor, cheer/dance instructor, youth ministry leader, or similar role may be especially relevant. Schedule Most current classes are held: Monday-Friday Primarily between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM Some afternoon opportunities are available, and additional weekday and Saturday programs may become available as our program grows. Classes generally run 25-45 minutes, with additional time required for setup and cleanup. Most current coaching schedules range from approximately 8-15 hours per week , depending on availability and assigned locations. Because coaches travel to partner schools, reliable transportation is necessary. Qualifications Experience working with children required Youth coaching or sports experience preferred Reliable transportation required Strong communication and group leadership skills Dependable and punctual Comfortable with an active position that may include outdoor coaching Ability to set up, move, and organize sports equipment used during classes Ability to successfully complete required background screening, including Level 2 fingerprinting, as applicable to the position and partner-school requirements Candidates who already have a current qualifying Level 2 background screening are encouraged to apply. At the preschool level especially, fun comes first . We use sports as a vehicle to get children moving, learning, laughing, and excited to participate. As children progress into older age groups, our coaching gradually incorporates more skill development and structured instruction. This position requires a BIG personality—coaches need to be energetic, animated, encouraging, and comfortable projecting their voice. Several are distracted and you're losing the group. What would you do? It's 9:00 AM and you're about to meet a group of 3

We teach sports fundamentals through games, imagination, encouragement, and movement. What would you do to make learning a basic skill—such as throwing, kicking, or catching—exciting for a preschooler? Why do you think you would be a great fit for N Zone Sports and specifically for coaching young children? What is your consistent Monday-Friday availability between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM? This position requires regular travel between different partner schools throughout Central Florida, with locations ranging from Lake Nona in the south to Longwood in the north, including Oviedo, UCF, Winter Springs, and surrounding areas. Please describe your comfort level with driving throughout this service area and traveling to different school locations as part of your weekly schedule.
