This is a Seasonal Supplemental position. Salary is determined by the Supplement Pay Schedule. Per Florida Statute 1012.55(2)(a), each person who is employed and renders service as an athletic coach in any public school in any district of this state shall hold a valid temporary or professional certificate or an athletic coaching certificate. The athletic coaching certificate may be used for either part-time or full-time positions. The provisions of this subsection do not apply to any athletic coach who voluntarily renders service and who is not employed by any public school district of this state. Florida law requires all Athletic Coaches to hold either a valid Florida Educator Certificate or a valid Athletic Coaching Certificate. The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates. The Three-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate is issued to provide time to complete the Five-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate requirements. An additional Athletic Coaching Certificate is not required for individuals who hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate. •Attention•Please see the link to the new Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse Education and Awareness website.
