Homeschool Soccer Academy Coach Locations:
Port Charlotte, North Port, Venice and Sarasota, Florida Employment Type:
Part-time Schedule:
Weekdays, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Compensation:
$20.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience About the Opportunity FC Way is hiring soccer coaches for its Homeschool Soccer Academy in Southwest Florida. The academy provides homeschooled children with structured soccer training, physical activity and opportunities to learn, socialize and develop alongside other young players. Sessions take place on weekday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We are seeking energetic, dependable individuals who enjoy working with children and can help create a safe, welcoming and positive learning environment. Our approach goes beyond teaching soccer techniques and rules. FC Way uses soccer, creative activities and age-appropriate games to help children develop confidence, communication, teamwork and enthusiasm for physical activity. Players should leave each academy session feeling successful, included and excited to return. This opportunity is suitable both for experienced coaches and for individuals beginning their coaching careers. Applicants do not need to have held a formal coaching position before. Coaches who are new to the profession will receive practical support, access to the FC Way coaching curriculum and guidance from experienced staff members. Main Responsibilities Coaches will be responsible for delivering or supporting age-appropriate sessions during the Homeschool Soccer Academy.
Duties include:
Planning and leading engaging soccer games, skill activities and small-sided matches Helping children develop fundamental soccer abilities in an enjoyable and supportive setting Adjusting activities according to the players' ages, confidence levels and soccer experience Creating an inclusive learning environment in which every participant is encouraged to take part Supporting children's physical, social and personal development Keeping children supervised during arrival, scheduled breaks, activities and dismissal Preparing the playing area and organizing, setting up and putting away equipment Promoting teamwork, fair play, respectful conduct and positive communication Communicating appropriately with parents, coaches and other academy staff Applying FC Way's curriculum, safety standards and child-protection procedures Arriving punctually and remaining prepared, attentive and actively involved throughout each assigned session Candidate Profile We are interested in applicants who: Enjoy working with children and contributing to their development Have a good knowledge of soccer gained through playing, coaching or both Can confidently communicate with and lead groups of young players Are patient, encouraging and able to redirect children when attention or energy levels change Demonstrate reliability, professionalism and a constructive attitude Are willing to learn, prepare for sessions and respond positively to coaching feedback Can work outdoors and participate actively in physical activities Are available during weekday mornings Have dependable transportation to the locations where they are assigned Are legally authorized to work in the United States Can successfully complete a background screening Helpful Qualifications The following experience or certifications are beneficial but are not mandatory: Experience in youth soccer, homeschool programs, childcare, teaching or education CPR or First Aid certification A US Soccer license or another recognized coaching credential What FC Way Offers Coaches joining FC Way will have the opportunity to: Work within a creative, supportive and child-focused academy Receive practical guidance from experienced professional coaches Gain experience using an established youth soccer curriculum Develop their coaching, leadership, communication and group-management skills Work regular weekday morning hours Build meaningful relationships with players and homeschool families Be considered for additional opportunities with FC Way, including private training, academies and other youth soccer programs Schedule and Work Areas Homeschool Soccer Academy sessions take place on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Port Charlotte, North Port, Venice and Sarasota. Assignments will depend on the academy schedule, the coach's availability and the locations the coach can reliably reach. Some coaches may work in a single area, while others may be offered sessions at multiple locations. Additional work may become available depending on performance, availability and the development of FC Way programs in each area.
