PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under the direct supervision of the College & Career Readiness Program Director, the Manufacturing 4.0 Instructor will demonstrate—through hands-on training and classroom instruction—proper technique, safety, and detail. The core of advanced manufacturing revolves around innovative technologies that heavily lean on information, automation, computation, software, sensing and networking. The Manufacturing 4.0 Instructor will provide program development, coordination, and delivery of certificate-based training.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop curriculum and supporting training materials, as needed. 2. Instruct program participants in advanced manufacturing using approved curriculum. 3. Coordinate hands-on training activities including on-site and community-based projects. 4. Demonstrate proper tools and equipment use, with an emphasis on safety. 5. Work with College & Career Readiness Program Director to research and determine budget for delivery of the advanced manufacturing program including, but not limited to, cost of equipment, materials, and instruction aid materials. Maintain comprehensive materials order lists. 6. Apply property control asset tags to all large and sensitive equipment. 7. Update and maintain tool and equipment inventory spreadsheets as new items are purchased for the program. 8. Conduct monthly inventory audits and report findings to supervisor. 9. Ensures that members are satisfactorily completing any required post-test/assessments that will lead to sustainable roles. 10. Perform a variety of duties to support our Manufacturing / Workforce Development initiatives, processes, reports, and events. 11. Assists the workforce team with direct and indirect advanced manufacturing recruitment of Martin County teens through support of community outreach events, MCSD school visits, other trade specific events, etc. Tracks inquiries via online portal and spearheads follow-up contact activities with prospective parents or guardians. 12. Performs other duties as assigned.

PROGRAM SUPERVISION 1.

Provide active supervision continually interacting with all members while providing coaching and mentorship during program training 2. Ensure that the program area is secure and clean. Ensure all instructional equipment is properly functioning. 3. Ensure that program tools and equipment are in good condition and instruct members in the proper use of the equipment. 4. Serve as a role model and mentor to both members and peers. 5. Work actively with volunteers to guide them regarding member activities and needs.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP 1.

Assist College & Career Readiness Program Director with cultivating new relationships and stewarding existing relationships in the building trades and similar communities through established community outreach, partner site visits, club service presentations and other means. 2. Participate in special programs and/or events as needed.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:

Works in close partners with College & Career Readiness Program Director and various departments as appropriate.

External:

Maintain contact with external vendors, volunteers, corporate partners, and other groups to achieve goals and objectives.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED 1.

Trades certificate in one of the following trades preferred: Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry and/or HVAC. 2. High School diploma or GED 3. Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction trades with a demonstrated ability of leading training programs. 4. Bilingual preferred. 5. Strong coaching skills and the determination to teach, inspire and lead future trades professionals are essential. 6. Must have solid technology skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, database applications, Google classroom and drive experience preferred. 7. A strong orientation to safety in the workplace is a must. 8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, community groups and other related agencies. 9.
