We're looking for someone who already has the heart to make a difference. This Is More Than Teaching Swimming At British Swim School, we teach skills that can save lives . Our instructors work with everyone from babies and young children to teens and adults. Some students are excited to be in the water. Others may be nervous, afraid, or unsure of themselves. That's where you come in. You may be the person who helps a nervous child put their face in the water for the first time. You may be the person who celebrates when a child floats independently. You may be the person who helps an adult overcome a fear they've carried for years. And sometimes, you may be the person a child remembers years from now as the instructor who believed in them. You don't need years of swim instruction experience. You don't need to have been a competitive swimmer. You don't need to know our curriculum. We can teach you those things. What we can't teach is genuine compassion, patience, enthusiasm and a desire to help others succeed. What You'll Do As a Swim Instructor, you will: Teach swimming and water-safety skills using the British Swim School curriculum Work with students ranging from babies to adults Help students develop confidence and independence in the water Create a safe, positive and encouraging learning environment Celebrate student progress and help students work through challenges Communicate professionally with parents, students and teammates Follow established safety procedures and teaching standards Arrive prepared, on time and ready to give your students your full attention Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development Work as part of a team that genuinely cares about its students You won't simply be standing at the side of a pool giving instructions. You'll be actively involved in helping people learn, grow and become safer around the water. No Experience? No Problem. One of the things that makes this opportunity different is that we provide paid training . We will teach you our curriculum, teaching techniques, safety procedures and the skills you need to become a successful British Swim School instructor. Your first step isn't to know everything. Your first step is to be willing to learn. Our busiest hours are generally:
Weekday afternoons and evenings Saturdays Saturday availability is required. We are looking for people who can commit to a consistent schedule once training is complete. What You Need Ability and willingness to work in the water for extended periods Comfortable working with children and adults Reliable transportation to your assigned work location Dependable attendance and punctuality Willingness to learn and follow our training program Ability to work Saturdays Previous swim instruction experience is NOT required.
