Job Description

Assistant Baseball Coach Shorter University, a NCAA Division II institution that competes in the Conference Carolinas, is currently accepting applicants for the position of a Part-time Assistant Baseball Coach. This is a 10 month position that will be responsible for helping with Student-Athlete development, evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes, and assigned administrative duties. This position will report to the Head Baseball Coach. All activities shall be conducted within the policies and resource framework of Shorter University, the Athletics Department, Conference Carolinas, and the NCAA. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist the Head Baseball Coach with the day-to-day operations of the baseball program. Perform coaching, practice, game-day, recruiting, administrative, and other program-related duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Assist in the development, instruction, and mentorship of student-athletes. Support and uphold team standards, expectations, policies, and culture. Help maintain a positive, disciplined, competitive, & Christ-centered team environment. Represent the baseball program and Shorter University professionally in interactions with student-athletes, families, recruits, university personnel, and the community. Comply with all university, conference, and NCAA rules, policies, and expectations. Perform additional duties as outlined by the Head Baseball Coach. Qualifications Bachelor's degree Previous baseball playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, staff, and university leadership. Willingness to perform responsibilities as directed by the Head Baseball Coach. Must be a committed Christian and have an active church membership.
