Job Description

Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Job Summary The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and supports all aspects of the women's basketball program. This role contributes to fostering a competitive, Christ-centered athletic environment while promoting the mission of Shorter University. Key Responsibilities Program Support & Administration Assist in the organization and administration of the women's basketball program. Support recruiting efforts, including identification and evaluation of Division II student-athletes. Assist in planning and conducting practices, conditioning sessions, and game preparation. Participate in public relations and program promotion efforts. Coaching & Player Development Assist the Head Coach with game-day coaching and in-game strategy. Evaluate player performance and contribute to player development plans. Help scout opponents and prepare game strategies. Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of conditioning programs. Compliance & Institutional Support Ensure full compliance with NCAA, Conference Carolinas, and University policies and regulations. Promote and help maintain a Christian environment consistent with the University's mission. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications A personal Christian statement of faith and commitment to the mission of Shorter University. Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of two (2) years of collegiate women's basketball coaching experience. Proven track record in recruiting student-athletes. Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and serve as a positive role model for student-athletes. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing or assisting with program budgets. Recruiting experience within the Southeast region. Fundraising experience.
