Job Description

Junior High Boys Wrestling Coach

New London Community School District

Stipend:

$2,547

New London Community School District is seeking a Junior High Boys Wrestling Coach. The coach will work with student-athletes to develop wrestling skills, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and provide a positive experience for students participating in the program.

Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct practices that support skill development, conditioning, safety, and teamwork.

Provide appropriate instruction and coaching during practices and competitions.

Promote positive sportsmanship, character, and appropriate student behavior.

Maintain expectations for student-athlete attendance, eligibility, and academic success.

Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school administration, and other coaches.

Work collaboratively with the high school wrestling program and Activities Director to support consistency within the district's wrestling program.

Follow district policies and applicable conference and state athletic regulations.

Maintain and care for district equipment and facilities.

Complete other responsibilities related to the coaching assignment as needed.

Qualifications:

Valid Iowa coaching authorization or endorsement as required by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.

Ability to work effectively with junior high students.

Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Wrestling and/or coaching experience preferred.
