Job Description
This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition and effectively provide the best possible education for each athlete to develop an appreciation of the sport. Qualifications Hold a Coaching Endorsement (#101) or Coaching Authorization from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or be eligible to obtain; Hold a current concussion training certificate; Hold a current CPR training certificate; Possess effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; Demonstrate a high level of sportsmanship and personal integrity and the ability to hold participants and colleagues to high standards of conduct; Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the skills, rules, and strategies of the sport or activity; Ability to model or demonstrate techniques, activities, and equipment used to develop fundamental skills and/or physical conditioning; Ability to develop drill and practice activities that teach and enhance individual and team skill development; Ability to differentiate instruction according to the individual needs and abilities of participants; Ability to develop and execute effective game plans based on the abilities of participants Ability to plan and enforce appropriate health and safety regulations and ensure the welfare of students at all times; Knowledge of the prevention and care of athletic injuries; Consistently maintains a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor; Demonstrated commitment to professional growth
