The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the game, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position requires effective communication, strategic planning, and the ability to motivate young athletes to achieve their best both on and off the field. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies that enhance player skills and team performance.
  • Conduct daily practices and provide instruction on fundamental baseball techniques and strategies.
  • Organize and oversee all aspects of the Junior Varsity Baseball program, including scheduling practices and games.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success.
  • Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to promote individual and team growth.
  • Collaborate with the head varsity coach and other coaching staff to ensure alignment in program goals and training methods.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, schedules, and expectations.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and games.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of players for the Junior Varsity team.
  • Uphold the values and mission of Canyon Ridge High School and the athletic department. Requirements
  • Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategies, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the baseball season.
  • A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
