Blackhawks Ice Center is the official practice facility of the Chicago Blackhawks and a year-round destination for hockey and skating in Chicago. Our facility provides opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to learn, develop, compete, and enjoy the game. We are looking for reliable, energetic, and knowledgeable hockey coaches who can support a variety of hockey programs at Blackhawks Ice Center. Ideal candidates enjoy working with players of all ages and skill levels, are comfortable teaching hockey fundamentals, and can create a positive, engaging, and development-focused environment on the ice. Programs Our programming includes Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, Legends in-house hockey, youth hockey clinics, camps, skill development programs, Adult Learn to Play, and other hockey and skating initiatives. Skate:

Introduce beginners to skating fundamentals and build confidence on the ice. Learn to

Play:

Teach foundational hockey skills, including skating, puck control, passing, and shooting.

Legends In-House Hockey:

Coach practices and games while supporting player development, teamwork, and hockey IQ.

Youth Clinics & Skill Development:

Lead focused sessions designed to develop specific skating and hockey skills. Adult Learn to

Play:

Teach beginner and developing adult players in a fun and supportive environment. Hockey Coach Responsibilities Coach BIC hockey programs for all ages and skill levels. Teach skating and fundamental hockey skills. Lead practices, drills, games, and skill sessions. Provide feedback and support to players. Create a fun, positive learning environment. Communicate with players, parents, and BIC staff. Follow all safety, facility, and program policies. Qualifications Playing and/or coaching experience in hockey. Strong skating and hockey skills. Ability to work with players of varying ages and skill levels. Strong communication and customer service skills. Positive, energetic, and professional attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a coaching team. Certifications USA Hockey coaching certification preferred. SafeSport certification required. Schedule Part-time hours will vary based on program needs and coach availability. Coaches may be scheduled for weekday, evening, and weekend programs. Physical Requirements Ability to skate and demonstrate hockey skills on the ice. Ability to stand, skate, bend, and move for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry hockey equipment and supplies.
