All coaches in an IHSA sport must hold an Illinois Teaching Certificate/Substitute Certificate, ASEP certificate (American Sport Education Program) or have completed an approved national Federation of High Schools (NFHS) coaching certification program. Coaches must maintain current AED/CPR certification and meet all IHSA coaching certification annual requirements. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for helping build and maintaining the girls' softball program which will include, but is not limited to: Assisting with maintaining levels of competition Summer camps for current and prospective players Along with the head coach, monitoring all athletes academic progress Assessing player's skills and assigning positions on the team Under direction of the head coach, helping organize practice schedule Under direction of the head coach, helping organize individual practices to provide individual and team development Following team rules and goals that are shared with players and parents Following established procedures in the event of an injury to an athlete Ensuring all athletes are supervised at all times when involved with team activities Acting as a positive role model and maintains proper sportsmanship on the team at all times Helping maintain an inventory of all equipment Attending professional development clinics/conferences specific to girls softball Interested candidates should fill out the online application and send a letter of interest and coaching resume to Athletic Director Brad Winn a bwinn@johnsburg.org Email To A Friend Print Version Postings current as of 8/19/2026 12:55:56 AM CST.
