About Windy City Aces Windy City Aces Volleyball Club is a Chicago-area junior volleyball club dedicated to developing skilled, confident, and coachable athletes. Our National-level teams compete at the highest level of club volleyball, and we believe great coaching is what makes that possible - on the court, in the classroom, and beyond. Job Overview We are looking for a National Head Coach to lead one of our National-level travel teams through the club season. You will own your team's experience from start to finish: practice planning, lineup and rotation decisions, tournament coaching, individual athlete development, and communication with families. This is a paid seasonal position, with the stipend based on experience and certification level. Responsibilities Plan and run team practices with clear technical, tactical, and competitive objectives Coach your team at local, regional, and national tournaments, including qualifiers and travel events Develop each athlete's skills, volleyball IQ, and confidence through age-appropriate progressions Set lineups, manage rotations, and make effective in-match adjustments Help run tryouts and contribute to team selection and formation each season Communicate clearly and professionally with athletes, parents, and club directors Build and maintain a safe, positive, accountable team culture that reflects Windy City Aces values Coordinate with assistant coaches and club staff on athlete health, workload, and injury prevention Support athletes and families through the college recruiting process where appropriate Track attendance, playing time, and athlete progress throughout the season Requirements Knowledge of indoor volleyball systems, serve receive, defensive schemes, and skill progressions Availability for weeknight practices and weekend tournaments throughout the club season Willingness to travel to regional and national tournaments Excellent communication skills with teenage athletes and their families Experience working with youth athletes, including behavior management and team dynamics Preferred Qualifications Collegiate or high-level playing experience Prior volleyball coaching experience at the club, high school, collegiate, or equivalent level Experience leading National-level or qualifier-bound club teams Familiarity with the Chicago-area junior volleyball landscape (Great Lakes Region, JVA, AAU) What We Offer Competitive seasonal stipend based on experience and certifications Covered tournament and travel expenses Club coaching apparel and gear A collaborative staff and a director who invests in coach development Windy City Aces is an equal opportunity employer.
