Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to athletes' skill levels and developmental needs in basketball. Lead team practices, drills, and game strategies to enhance individual and team performance. Foster a positive team culture by promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and respectful communication among players. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including proper use of sports equipment and adherence to health guidelines. Maintain clear communication with players, parents, and school or organizational officials regarding team schedules, policies, and athlete development. Qualifications Proven experience coaching basketball at youth or competitive levels; prior experience as a team leader is highly valued. Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, rules, and strategies; familiarity with sports-specific training instruction is essential. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adolescents in a coaching or teaching capacity. Excellent communication skills for engaging with players, parents, colleagues, and community members. Certification in First Aid and CPR; AED operation certification preferred but not mandatory. Background in sports coaching experience across various disciplines such as soccer coaching, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (including karate or judo), or similar activities is advantageous. Experience working with children in physical education settings or health clubs; childcare experience is a plus. Skills in behavior management to foster discipline while maintaining motivation and enthusiasm among athletes. Ability to lead by example with energy, positivity, and a commitment to athlete development.
