Full Job Description Duties :
Under the supervision of the Athletics Coordinator, the Youth Basketball Instructor is responsible for the following: Overseeing the Youth Basketball Skills Clinic and Kindergarten League.
Skills Clinic Instructor:
Responsible for teaching basketball skills classes to 1st - 4th graders.
Kindergarten League Instructor:
Responsible for teaching basketball fundamentals to kindergarteners and refereeing league games. Follows all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; supports all aspects of the Park District's safety program. Performs all other duties as required.
Essential Functions :
Must be able to be on your feet for multiple consecutive hours, run, jump, and lift up to 45 pounds.
Experience :
Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge and Ability :
Understanding of basic philosophy surrounding the game of basketball, and the ability to interpret that to staff and public. Ability to be punctual, dependable, and trustworthy. Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers. Ability to work harmoniously with the public and fellow employees in an enthusiastic, cooperative, and productive manner. Demonstrate great customer service. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
