JOB TITLE

7th Grade Head Boys Basketball Coach

REPORTS TO

Middle School Athletic Director

ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES

Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents Teach skills through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility Responsible for all aspects of directing the team's practice and play in games Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team Monitor players personal conduct during games Manage equipment Perform related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work well with middle school aged children A solid understanding of the game's fundamentals, strategies, and age-appropriate skill development is crucial. The ability to lead effectively, communicate clearly with students, parents, and staff, and foster a positive team environment is essential. Willingness to learn and follow district rules and guidelines regarding youth sports Prior coaching/playing experience is helpful but not required.
