Job Description

Position Overview The Indy Fuel are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and collaborative Assistant Coach to join the coaching staff and contribute to the continued development and success of the organization. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach and hockey operations staff in all areas of team preparation, player development, scouting, video analysis, practice planning, and game management. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, a detailed understanding of the modern game, and the ability to build positive relationships with professional athletes. Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach with the daily operation and management of the hockey team.
  • Collaborate on practice planning and participate in the execution of daily on-ice practices.
  • Assist with game preparation, pre-scouting, video analysis, and opponent evaluations.
  • Coordinate and/or oversee assigned special teams responsibilities, including penalty kill and/or power play .
  • Work directly with players on individual skill development, video sessions, and performance improvement.
  • Assist with player evaluation, scouting, recruitment, and roster management.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach and hockey operations department.
Qualifications Required:
  • 3+ years of playing and/or coaching experience at the professional, major junior, collegiate, or comparable level.
  • Strong understanding of professional hockey systems, tactics, and player development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with video analysis and hockey technology.
  • Strong understanding of special teams and game preparation.
