Job Summary:
New Castle Community School Corporation is seeking a qualified Head Varsity Boys Wrestling Coach to lead a competitive and student-focused wrestling program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organization, and communication skills while promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and academic success. This position is appointed by the Board of School Trustees upon the recommendation of the Athletic Director and Superintendent and must comply with all regulations of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and district policies.
Qualifications:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members Knowledge of wrestling techniques, training methods, and equipment Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and flexibility Must successfully pass a Criminal History Check
Key Responsibilities:
Provide positive leadership and serve as a role model for student-athletes Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the wrestling program Ensure appropriate conduct, supervision, and development of assistant coaches Supervise locker rooms, practices, and contests until all athletes have safely departed Ensure all required participation forms (IHSAA physicals) are completed prior to participation Maintain compliance with all IHSAA and district rules and expectations Promote academic success, discipline, and sportsmanship among athletes Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or administration
