Summary Webster County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff as a full-time assistant football coach. This position is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering a positive team environment, developing student-athletes, and contributing to the overall success of the football program. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to implement training programs, develop game strategies, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork among players. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and executing daily practices, drills, and game strategies. Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes to improve their skills and performance. Collaborate with coaching staff to develop game plans and scouting reports. Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide support as needed. Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and hard work. Assist with the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the football program. Help organize and supervise team events, including games, tournaments, and community service activities. Maintain equipment and ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games. Attend coaching clinics, workshops, and meetings to enhance coaching skills and knowledge. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team matters and expectations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred. Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best both on and off the field. Commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes. First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is required (or willingness to obtain upon hiring). Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies regarding coaching and athletics. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the football season.
