Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian at Webster County High School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Maintain cleanliness and organization of school facilities, ensuring that all areas are presentable and safe for use. Handle waste disposal and recycling according to established procedures. Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, meetings, and activities, including moving furniture and equipment as needed. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or needs to the supervisor. Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards, reporting issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and students. Collaborate with other staff members to promote a positive school environment and address any custodial concerns. Participate in training and professional development as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is an asset but not required. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, and stand for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals. Must pass a background check and adhere to all school policies and regulations. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
