Job Description

Summary Webster County High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic program as an assistant soccer coach. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the sport, a strong commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our soccer program while mentoring young athletes. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and conducting soccer practices, training sessions, and competitions. Support the development of individual player skills and team dynamics through effective coaching techniques. Help organize and supervise team activities, including games, tournaments, and team meetings. Monitor and evaluate athlete performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills and teamwork. Foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations. Assist in the recruitment of new players and promote the soccer program within the school and community. Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines. Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on the latest coaching strategies and techniques. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably in soccer, at the high school or youth level. Strong knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and training methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes and their families. Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other coaching staff. Commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes. Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
