Summary Webster County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as a Freshman Volleyball Coach. This full-time position is responsible for developing and implementing a competitive volleyball program for our freshman athletes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement training programs, practice schedules, and game strategies for the freshman volleyball team. Conduct daily practices, ensuring that athletes are improving their skills, teamwork, and understanding of the game. Coach the team during games, providing guidance and support to athletes in real-time. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, schedules, and expectations. Monitor and evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance the overall athletic program at Webster County High School. Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations. Organize and oversee team events, including fundraising activities and community service projects. Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with best practices in coaching and player development. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred. Previous coaching experience, particularly at the high school level, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by practice and game schedules. Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all athletes. First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first year of employment. A valid driver's license and the ability to transport athletes to games and events as needed. Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies regarding coaching and student-athlete conduct.
